Recycle Your Bras For Yorkshire Air Ambulance Charity
I have just been reading on the Fashion Finds Uk Blog about recycling your bra for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Laura blogs that 'Lingerie please' have teamed up with 'Bag It Up' to help collect 200,000 bras for charity to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Once second-hand bras are donated they are re-packed & shipped to West Africa where they are sold on to licensed West African traders with all profits going to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Being based in Yorkshire myself I am very interested to highlight this campaign, so dig out those unwanted bras today and then why not treat yourself to a new bra, you could even grab yourself a bra bargain!

The Fuller Woman Expo 19th September 2009 Detroit
The Fuller Woman Expo is an international event dedicated to Curvier Women. The expo takes place on September 19, 2009 from 10 am- 8pm at the Hotel St. Regis in Detroit, MI.
The day will end with a full scale fashion showcase entitled“Curves in Motion” sponsored by Lane Bryant.

One of the girls managed an unexpected get away to Spain last week and noted that the swimwear attire for many of the Spanish and English holiday makers in Benidorm was the bikini.

100 Years Of American Swimwear
If you are interested in the history of swimwear through the ages then you will enjoy watching this video clip.
Check out the vintage swimwear from the 1900's through to the style of swimsuits worn by Olympic swimmers today at the Swimming Hall Of Fame Fashion Show.
It was interesting to see how the ladies were very covered up in the 1900s and then by the 1920s there was a little bit of colour and thighs were beginning to be seen although the swimsuits wee skirted to maintain modesty.
Through the 1930s more colour and style was added to the designs with cutouts under the chest area.
By the 1970s the skirt had been removed from some styles of swimsuits and this decade saw the bikini emerged. The difference between the bikini and the two piece was that the belly button shows when wearing a bikini.
It is interesting how the unitard of the 1900s is similar to the swimwer worn by competitive swimmers today.

“Undercover: The Evolution of Underwear" Exhibit at Fashion and Textile Museum
“Undercover: The Evolution of Underwear” is a lingerie exhibition at the Fashion and Textile Museum in London which opened in June and runs until 27th September 2009.
The exhibition looks at:
- the changing role of lingerie within fashion and culture role.
- lingerie construction.
- the popularity of lingerie between the 1980s and today.
- the celebrity influence on the lingerie scene
- how underwear is advertised.
- lingerie's place in our culture and our media.
