I have just placed an order with Charnos for the very popular 171 this is a lovely bodyshaper - ideal for those just requiring a bit of 'holding in' and great for smoothing out the silhouette for that very special occasion dress - mother of the bride or groom springs to mind, only to be informed that this bodyshaper is now selling out in black and will not be available in the future. This is always disappointing, so my advice to you all is get your order in quickly, I am still able to obtain stock at the moment but once it has gone, it has gone!

Bra Recycling

I have just been reading about a textile recycling company from Birmingham, BCR Global Textiles, that has announced a new bra-recycling project.

The company is calling on women of all ages, sizes and shapes to hand in their unwanted undergarments at special 'bra banks' - located in banks, gyms and even bingo halls.

The bras will be sorted and then sent to third world countries in Easten Europe, Asia and Africa.

So why not recycle your unwanted bras.

Cabbage Leaves Help Nursing Mothers

I have read on the Topveg website that cabbage leaves can help nursing mothers.

"The Nursing Mothers’ Association of Australia recommends laying the outer green cabbage leaves on engorged breasts of nursing mothers."

If you are a new mum and are breast feeding then maybe this veg tip from TopVeg will help you, if you are suffering with engorged breasts.

Front Adjusting Bra's

We do get enquiries from people who are finding if difficult to adjust their bra's to get a good 'uplift'.

Front adjustable bra straps are often requested and we do stock a bra that fits the bill - Triumph Doreen.

You may be having difficulty adjusting your bra for plenty of reasons, arthritis being one of the many, or that as we age, the fingers do not work quite as well as they used to!

Going To Be Interviewed By Maurice Boland For Talk Radio Europe

I am very excited to tell you that I have been asked if I would like to be interviewed by Maurice Boland for Talk Radio Europe.

Talk Radio Europe is Spain’s largest English speaking radio station broadcasting to approximately half a million listeners. They have a weekly enterprise program where they feature entrepreneurs who have built up successful companies and this is the part of the show they want to interview me for!

The interview will be at 11.45am on Wednesday 1st July. I'll let you know how I get on and when it will be broadcast.

Story Of Swimwear Exhibition At Sydney's National Maritime Museum

Here is my welcome note from the early Summer catalogue.

We are all looking forward to this wonderful Summer we are being promised, but I have to say that Spring is a favourite for me. The Moors are looking particularly beautiful as I write this, I am pleased to say that lambing is finally over and the lambs are cavorting around the fields in the lovely sunshine 'full of the joys.'

Waites has a lovely range of nightwear in 100% cotton in fresh colours which will wash and wear well.

I know that having a comfortable supportive bra is so important to you and when adding style and quality a winning combination is to be had, I know that many of you are disappointed to see the Fantasie 0995 and the 0993 is to be discontinued, but while sizes are still available and stocks last we will keep ordering for you. when the time comes for an alternative to be found we will be in touch with you.

Ample Bosom is able to order an Ulla product that we don't stock. We can order a product for you as a 'special' and this is what we did for Diana who wanted the Rebecca Underwired Body in perlgrey from Ulla Dessous.

Thank you the all in one from Ulla is brilliant. When I saw the colour it reminded of me at university some 40 years ago. When I went home for the first time some 8 weeks after starting my course my mother took my washing out of the case to wash. Everything was the same colour, yes perlgrey. I had put everything in the machine together. So I was at the height of fashion allbeit 40 years ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Grow Your Own Veg In Bras And Pants?!

Well I know that produce shows often have a category for flowers in an unusual container but I would never have thought of using my old bra or John's underpants for that matter! But it seems that some gardeners from the Ramsey Horticultural Society are growing produce in old bras, pants and boxer shorts!

Georgie Webb of the Royal Horticultural Society said, 'Due to their conical shape, bras are ideal containers for turning into hanging baskets, and if you sew two together you have what is best described as a "hanging bra-sket." Once filled with compost you can grow salad leaves, herbs, alpine strawberries and even tumbling cherry tomatoes in them.'

There was even debate as to which type of bras would make the best growing container.
