Some exciting news to report this week – I have now reached my all-time lowest weight, having lost one and a half pounds. I am really pleased, especially as I have been too busy in the office with our mid-season sale to do more than my regular swimming sessions (bike, what bike?!), but I am obviously doing something right, so shan’t ask too many questions about the whys and wherefores. And to help me really enjoy my swimming trips (and for you to consider if you're lucky enough to be jetting off for some winter sun!) I am quite taken with our new Cairo kaftan by Fantasie (see left): it's supersoft and loose fit and available in aquamarine and black. I have earned it, after all ...Speaking of questions, we’re always delighted to hear from you, our Ample Bosom customers, and we get lots of emails asking about our products and styles, but most of our queries are about the actual fit of the bra. There are so many factors that come into play when considering this; one of which is how you should actually be wearing it. Here’s one example from one of our loyal customers, Ruth:
Q
Hi Sally
I recently purchased a Glamorise bra – the Magic Lift Posture Back one [see below]. It is really great, but I do get a lot of rolling up on the underside. Is this normal, or do I need to change sizes? The cup size is fine and everything feels comfortable. Just want to know before I buy more.
Thanks
Ruth

Hi Ruth
Thank you for your email. There was a time when under-bands sat one inch below the bust, but we all have curvier bodies nowadays, meaning that the band needs to sit a little higher on most women. Try this and you’ll see what I mean:

1) Put your bra on in front of a mirror;
2) Pull up the shoulder straps from the top of the cup;
3) As you pull it up watch the area that is rolling and pull until the under-bust band is lying flat against your body (as it would look on a 20-year old!);
3) Release and get comfortable again. Does the bra feel and look like a good fit?
If this is the case I suspect you have been pulling down the under band and it is curling as a result – this is usual on curvy bodies. It is better for the band to therefore be higher up and hidden.
Hope this helps
Sally
Feedback
Hi Sally
That’s really helpful – thanks. Yes I have been pulling the band down!
The Glamorise posture bra is the best bra I have ever worn – it is making an incredible difference to my backache after a long day and gradually to the dents in my shoulders made by 30 years of trying to get good support.
Thanks
Ruth
And that’s the most rewarding thing about being able to advise people on their bras; receiving such great feedback and knowing it’s made a difference.
So if you have any questions that you think I might be able to help you answer, please just let me know. Just email me or pick up the phone and call the Ample Bosom offices on 01439 798388; I’m waiting to help you get the most out of your bra (and your body shape!).
Best wishes
Sally
